Ban Pha Hi School

Pha Hi School is located in Northern part of Thailand at Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province. Students in the school (total approximately 110 students) are hill tribe children from 2 villages – Baan Ar Khar and Baan Mu-ser Pha Hee. The school provides education from pre-school level to grade 6.

Since the school is in a remote area, it has difficulties in getting support for overall development. Nestlé, at first stage, supported school lunch program for needy students studied in the school. At present the budget provided for Ban Pha Hi School is increased to 100,000 Baht per year for education and nutrition development. Apart from the financial support, Nestlé Agronomist team also provide technical support. The team, who work at the Arabica Experimental & Demonstration Farm on Doi Tung, occasionally visit the school and teach the students how to grow plants especially coffee. These hill tribe students can then help their parents work in their own coffee farm with the know-how they have learned at school.
