Nestlé Active Thailand with 3Es

During the past years, we believe that our ways of life have changed more or less. We have learned something new. We focus more on hygiene and healthcare to arm ourselves with protection against diseases and illness. Although the situation may seem to have improved now, healthcare is still essential for everyone. Nestlé would like everyone to continuously look after themselves by changing perspective and adopting behavioral changes with simple healthcare tips everyone can do with 3Es Eating, Exercise, and Emotion.

Health Tips with 3Es 

1. Eating healthy food by eating nutritionally the food from all 5 food groups that are hygienic and freshly cooked.

  • Healthy portion 2:1:1 To get proper level of energy and complete nutrients, in a single plate, vegetables should take up about half the plate or about 2 ladles. Carbohydrate should take up about ¼ of the plate or 1 ladle. Meat should also take up about ¼ of the plate or 1 ladle. 

  • Limit fat, salt and sugar intake for long-tern health. Consuming too much sugar is linked to a number of health issues. Select less sugar or sugar-free options more frequently, or select products with "Healthier Choice” nutritional logo to make sure that you get nutritionally acceptable amount of sugar. 

  • Cook you own food to make sure that every meal is hygienic and full of nutrition. Try cooking with boiling, blanching, steaming, and grilling instead of frying which requires large amount of cooking oil. Season with naturally fermented soy sauce to make your food safe and tasty. 

  • Add more fiber to help excrete waste from the body. Foods that contain fiber include vegetables, fruits, cereal beverages, wholegrains, or wholegrain cereals. Fiber helps reduce level of cholesterol and blood sugar, aid in elimination of toxin, and speed up excretion time, so it can help reduce the risk of developing illness.  

  • Boost calcium intake to help slow down degeneration of the body with calcium-rich milk products or chocolate malt beverage products that contain milk. For kids, consuming milk with probiotics is another way to help boost immunity for healthiness. 

2. Exercise regularly: A simple healthcare tips that require discipline. Exercising regularly can be another protection against illness. According to the recommendation, we should work out at least 30 minutes a day, 3-5 times a week. You should do integrated exercise that combines cardio training - like power walking, cycling, swimming, running or aerobic dancing to help burn calories and fat, and control weight – along with weight training like water-bottle dumbbell lifting, pull-up bar training, and planking to build strong muscle mass and help improve metabolic system. When you exercise, you should prioritize drinking clean drinking water before, during, and after exercise to replace water loss to maintain water balance in the body, and help freshen you up, enabling systems and organs in the body to work properly. 3. Emotion: Your mental health needs as much care as your physical health. Mental health care begins with positive thinking by looking at the problem from different perspectives, turning it into an opportunity to learn something. Spend more time with the family happily by encouraging discussion among family members, showing your love for one another, and finding healthy activities to do altogether. Get some relaxation by playing with your pets, making friends with your neighbors. These are simple ways to create smile and laughter.

Getting healthy to be ready for any change can be accomplished by making every meal a healthy meal for your body. Spending time doing something productive on the basis of healthcare and hygiene according to 3Es is a tool for you to always be ready to adjust to the change, reduce the risk of developing illness, and get ready to return to normal life when everything begins to come back to normal to bring out happier smile and laughter.
