Nestlé (Thai) Ltd. has joined forces with YoungHappy, a social enterprise focused on enhancing the quality of life for seniors, along with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), the Department of Health, and the Senior Citizens Council of Thailand to launch the ‘Senior Health Promoter’ project. This initiative aims to empower senior volunteers who are motivated to enhance their quality of life through meaningful activities that promote health and well-being among seniors.
The program initially targets 1,000 seniors in Bangkok, beginning with the recruitment of 50 volunteers aged 55 and above who are in good health and passionate about wellness. These volunteers will undergo comprehensive training, both on-site and online, to become “Senior Health Promoters.” Equipped with health-promotion skills, they will then lead local activities to guide other seniors in health and wellness practices over a 13-week “Health Mission” program to encourage sustainable, positive lifestyle changes, fostering stronger and healthier lives among the aging population.
