Bangkok – January 8, 2020: NESCAFÉ BLEND & BREW, the world’s number one coffee mix, held a red-carpet launch at Lhong 1919 for Thailand’s first “Interactive Chinese New Year Blessing” campaign to nurture stronger bonds with Thai people nationwide. Eight auspicious animals and symbols offer Chinese New Year blessings through an advanced 3D animated interactive experience using AR technology by scanning special NESCAFÉ BLEND & BREW packaging and a limited-edition NESCAFÉ interactive red mug collection, each featuring a unique Chinese New Year design. Consumers can also enjoy the interactive experience by scanning MRT in-train media, on display materials at all NESCAFÉ HUB locations and in supermarkets nationwide, and at eight auspicious spots located throughout MRT Wat Mangkon station.

The campaign is a significant collaboration between NESCAFÉ BLEND & BREW and Tossapol (Mor Chang) Sritula, the famous fortune teller, who selected the eight auspicious Chinese characters “Ji, Xing, Kang, Gao, Hao, Lu, Shou, and Fu” plus auspicious animals and objects for the Chinese New Year blessings. Phannapast (Yoon) Taychamaythakool, the noted illustrator behind the impressive Chinese artwork at MRT Wat Mangkon station, also created the designs for the Chinese New Year wishes.

Consumers can use the Recall application on their smart phones to scan NESCAFÉ BLEND & BREW packages, the limited-edition interactive AR NESCAFÉ red mugs, and other display media in the campaign, to enjoy the 3D interactive experience featuring the eight auspicious symbols and objects. They will also see Chinese characters that offer blessings for prosperity, health, longevity, and good fortune during the coming year.


The launch event took place on a magnificent stage with famous celebrities each wearing a modern Chinese look while walking on a red carpet as they presented the eight designs of the interactive AR NESCAFÉ red mug collection. The show was led by brand ambassadors Thanawat (Pope) Watthanaphuti and Jirayu (James) Tangsrisuk, dressed as Chinese warriors representing the perfect bond of NESCAFÉ BLEND & BREW’s signature blend of intense Robusta and smooth Arabica coffee beans. The eight other celebrities who joined the event were Kanyavee (Thanaerng) Songmuang, Machanot (Lin) Suwanmas, Pornpavee (Faye) Neerasing, Nattasha (Yoghurt) Bunprachom, Perawat (Krist) Sangpotirat, Prachaya (Singto Ruangroj), Krit (PP) Amnuaydechkorn, and Putthipong (Billkin) Assarattanakul.
