Bangkok – 16 December 2019: With Christmas approaching, you may be looking for new ideas for creative decorations to celebrate this festive season. When adopting these ideas, why not love ourselves and love the earth at the same time this Christmas?
To encourage such thinking, NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM recently held the “Love Yourself, Love the Earth” event at CentralWorld, inviting the young generation to love themselves by drinking healthy coffee and take the first step to be part of the “Love the Earth with Paper Packaging” campaign. To demonstrate the creative reuse of paper packaging, NESCAFÉ put together an eco-Christmas tree featuring ornaments made from used NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM paper packages.
In mid-2019, NESCAFÉ switched to paper packaging for NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM. This was the first step by NESCAFÉ Thailand to introduce innovative secondary packaging to replace plastic, and the first such action by NESCAFÉ globally in line with Nestlé’s commitment to 100% recyclable or reusable packaging by 2025.
To celebrate this Christmas season, NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM came up with the idea of turning used paper packages into cool Christmas ornaments, then delivering a Christmas tree decorated with these ornaments to the children at the Baannokkamin Foundation to give them happiness.

At the same time, we encourage consumers to love themselves by drinking healthy coffee such as NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM, and join us in loving the earth by reusing paper packaging to promote the circular economy concept.”
The Love Yourself, Love the Earth event was packed with stars who have a “green heart” including Alex Rendell, Pornpawee Neerasingh, Dhanundhorn Neerasingh, Jackrin Kungwankiatichai, and Teeradon Supapunpinyo. They all joined in a workshop to create ornaments made from used NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM paper packaging to put on the Christmas tree, while Jacky and James serenaded the environmentally-conscious consumers who were participating the event with a medley of nice songs.
Alex Rendell, an actor known for his dedication to the environment, said, “As a Thai, I’m proud that today NESCAFÉ PROTECT PROSLIM has shown an awareness of and care for environmental problems, which are something close to us all. Taking a first innovative step towards a big change, NESCAFÉ switched plastic packaging to easily-decomposable paper. This means Thais can enjoy a healthful coffee with a great taste and aroma while being part of the environmental conservation movement.”
