Nestlé (Thai) Ltd.’s MILO Breakfast Cereals today hosted the final round of the MILO Cereal Futsal Champions 2014 tournament in partnership with the Department of Physical Education and the Office of the Basic Education Commission under the Ministry of Education.
The tournament aims to encourage kids to lead an active, healthy lifestyle, and serves as a platform for local youngsters aged 13-15 years to stay fit, and to take a healthy breakfast such as wholegrain cereal. The tournament finals was held at the Island Hall of Fashion Island Shopping Centre, was packed with sport-minded youngsters, and fans of Thailand’s hottest stars and actors.
In attendance at the ceremony were top executives of Nestlé including Mr. Wayne England, Chairman & CEO Nestlé Indochina Region, Mr. Eugene Chan, Communication & Marketing Services Director, Mr. Marc Butot, Sales Director, Mr. David Carter, Country Business Manager - CPW Indochina as well as Dr. Chanwit Polcheewin, the Deputy Director-General
of the Department of Physical Education, and representative of the Basic Education Commission.
The special highlight of the MILO Cereal Futsal Champions was a special futsal match by Nestlé executives, as well as stars and actors who are role models for teenagers including Great Warintorn, Top Jaron, Alex Rendell, and Tao AF. The presence of celebrities to show off their physical fitness and talent will help to inspire youngsters in the audience.
They are a good example of how eating energy-giving food for one’s age, especially breakfast and exercising can keep you strong and healthy. The audience was also treated to a ‘Speed-Goal’ penalty shootout demonstration in which the strength and speed of each kick can be measured.

We recognize the importance of a nutritious breakfast because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We also encourage youngsters to grow up strong and healthy through sports so we have organised the MILO Cereal Futsal Champions.
This is now the fifth consecutive year of the MILO Cereal Futsal Champions which offers local youths a stage on which to compete and develop their skills while enjoying team sports. Futsal is a fun team sport. It is easy to play and does not require much space. It also encourages youth to engage in outdoor activities and lead a balanced, active lifestyle rather than just spend time passively with electronic gadgets.”
Mr. Carter added, “Most ‘tweens and teens’ lead energetic, active and vigorous lifestyles, and their bodies have a high need for nutrients to achieve proper growth and development. In particular, they need a high energy breakfast with proper nutrients to help them grow and develop to their full potential.

13-17 October 2014.
Mr. Carter said this year’s tournament has been a massive success judging from the number of participating teams, which is in line with MILO’s purpose to make MILO Cereal Futsal Champions to be the major youth futsal tournament of the year
The MILO Cereal Futsal Champions is part of the MILO Futsal Champions 2014. The championship is comprised of MILO Cereal Futsal Champions for kids aged 13-15 years and MILO Junior Futsal Champions for kids in 3 age groups of 7-12 years old, designed to recruit budding futsal stars.
The MILO Junior Futsal Champions finals will take place on Sunday 14 September 2014 at the Island Hall of Fashion Island Shopping Center.
